Black Gold Vehicles – Creating impact with your choice of paper and print finishing

In June last year we wrote a blog – What’s Great About Print: Here’s Why We Love It and You Should Too! Essentially it’s an overview of why print isn’t dead and what benefits it has to offer even though more and more marketing is being carried out in the digital space.  So when we were asked by Forces Cars Direct (https://www.forcescarsdirect.com), a client we have been working with for many years, to help them print manage their marketing collateral for a brand new ‘ high end’ service they were launching called Black Gold Vehicles (https://blackgoldvehicles.com) it really resonated with me.

To put things in perspective Black Gold Vehicles is a specialist vehicle sourcing service aimed at high net worth individuals, sports personalities and celebrities so it was vitally important that the company brochure, note pad and branded executive conference folder along with everything that went in it created a sense of exceptional quality, luxury and attention to detail.

The scope of this project allowed us to bring together a range of different papers and finishes and it was decided to go with the GF Smith range. The cover was printed on 300gsm Gmund Action Hell Black with gold foil embossed lettering, the text pages were printed on 120gsm Munken Design pure rough and four pages of gold paper were inserted for the first two and last two pages.  As you will see from the attached images this really set the tone of the brochure.  In terms of finishes the front and back cover were gold foil blocked which makes the text and logo really stand out.

Of course not all printed projects warrant the use of three different paper stocks but if your  business has gone through the process of having the company marketing collateral professionally designed, whether that be through an internal graphic designer or outsourced via a graphic design agency why not go that one step further and consider the paper type and what it’s being printed on, whether it should be silk, gloss or uncoated. There can be certain finishes applied too including embossing, reverse embossing, spot UV or foil blocking to name a few.  All these finishes add a tactile quality that can only be created using print….

Forces Cars Direct were very happy with the final result and the clients who have now experienced the ‘ Black Gold’ service are certainly happy too !
